Process

 Schedule

  • Duration 1.5 - 2 years
  • Start 1st of October each year
  • 3 - 4 modules lasting 6 months each in different (head office) departments or branches in one of the 8 possible specialist areas.

Requirements

  • Good to very good degree from a university (Bachelor or Master), a cooperative  state university, an university of applied science and arts or participation in the German Foreign Trade and Logistics Academy (DAV)
  • Relevant practical experience through vocational training or internship
  • Mobility
  • Independent and target-oriented
  • Proficient in German with a good knowledge of English
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Work experience abroad
  • Good communication skills

Program

What you will discover

The trainee program is a widely diversified program in which you will be given a wide variety of tasks in different locations. This will contribute towards preparing you to take on an area of responsibility.

  • Provides support and assistance through the central personal development department
  • The mentor accompanies you along your career path and helps to plan your individual future steps in collaboration with the personal development department.

Seminars

  • The „DB Schenker Start“ seminar at the beginning of the program as an e-learning form

  • Two trainee seminars per year on personal development complete with evening program with the Board

  • Other specialist and personal development seminars from our further training program, for example:

    • Conflict management
    • Intercultural skills
    • Leadership

Projects

On the basis of specialist or non-specialist projects, we offer you the chance to think outside the box, for example by:

  • Planning a trainee excursion
  • Dealing with topics set by the board
  • Realize social projects

Countries

  • Global, i.e. Australia, England, Switzerland Holland etc.
  • Not an integral element of the trainee program
